It was nice to sit in the sun and wander around the shops. There are restaurants and coffee shops in the area, and all in a short walk from Costa Real

A great place with a lot of open spaces but there's nothing to do. The city council must to look after for it. Parking lots are "controlled" for some guys that offers car wash, not so good idea for foreigners who doesn't understand this practice.

Really nice public space with plenty of places to sit. Not a whole lot to do in this town but I enjoyed seeing the plaza.

This plaza de armas is nicely kept and well organised with some benches and trees to help you relax. There are some nice shops around and tourist information too.

After two months of visiting various 'plazas de armas' in Argentina and Chile this specific Plaza was so-so. As tends to be the case the Plaza does have a few significant structures adjacent to it, one being The Cathedral. My pics uploaded separately.

By contrast with Santiago, which has little historical charm, the centre of La Serena is very appealing. Stroll around the Plaza de Armas and neighbouring streets and you will feel like you are somewhere interesting! A festival was in full swing while we were in...More
