It was too wet to get out and walk around but we took a boat and we were able to see a ton of birds.

Scenic drive to the Park along Lake Huillinco and the best part of the walk in the National Park was the El Tepual loop with temperate rain forest plants. Also across the road was the track to the Dune lookout from where you had a...More

Well, the park can easily be reached from Castro; take a bus from Municipal Terminal Bus Station (MTBS) which leaves you exactly at the main entrance of the park (same location for return), 3500CLP/person both ways. It’s a lovely bus ride which gives you the...More

We spent a pleasant morning walking in the rain in this park. Interesting explanatory plaques in English ( a bonus for we poor Spanish speakers) & Spanish. We did make the mistake of taking a non- boardwalk path which became somewhat of an African Queen...More

It’s a nice island, quite big, and full of historic places and traditions. Wood constructions are iconic, specially churches... 16 of them are UNESCO world patrimony. Nice landscapes but recommended for history, traditions and wooden craft and constructions.

The drive to the coast is enjoyable as one passes two lakes. At the coast, we went looking for the park and did not find it the first time we drove past the entrance. We tried to hike on the nature trail starting at the...More

The whole centre is very tourist (not exactly hiker) oriented. Plenty of descriptive signs in Spanish and a bit of a museum as well. However the trails are all very short which pressures you to take your time and enjoy the nature!! Costs: 3500 for...More

I was pleasantly surprised. The park was well maintained, the paths easy to walk on and the bathrooms clean. It was obvious that this park was cared for. We walked for about two hours in rain. But it did not matter. We saw local trees...More

Not the most exciting national park I've been to but I guess it's a nice place to visit if you have kids. The entrance Fee (4,000 pesos per person - foreigners / 2,000 pesos per person- Chileans) is extortionate considering what the park actually offers...More

We enjoyed our drive from Castro out to the National Park. I would describe the trip as pleasant and interesting but not fabulous or particularly memorable. The walks were well signposted and easy to follow.
