This is a must see lake. We spent three days just cruising around the lake. So many things to see, obviously the fishermen with their unique way of rowing their boats. There are 17 floating villages on the lake. The lake gardeners, growing their vegetables on the lake and taking them to market. All the ladies in their hats in... More

We stayed in an hotel on the lake for 3 days during our visit to Myanmar. It was our favorite part of Myanmar after Bagan. We arrived just before sunset to our floating hotel on Inle lake. We rode in a giant canoe like boat and passed many floating farms, and local farmers tending to the farms and fishermen. The... More

Inle Lake remains a must see location in Myanmar. Watching the fisherman in the morning (the legitimate ones, not tourist photo traps - yes that happens now) is quite stunning and interesting; a study in cultural isolation and independent technological innovations. However, while I was aware that Inle was the place! To be for foreign tourists, it was rather staggering.... More

The lake has beautiful scenery with its famous leg-rowers. Those who would like to enjoy nature will definitely enjoy the trip to the inle lake. I recommend visiting the weaving machines and their gift shops. Some might feel uncomfortable at first but they will enjoy it later.

Apart from the noise of the longtail's engine of course! Enjoy the countryside, the birds, watch the "one legged rowing" of the fishermen. Going up and down water alleyways observe the vegetables being grown, the population living in bamboo houses on stilts. And then there are the pagodas and temples to visit.

Living on the second largest lake in Myanmar was an amazing experience. I have to admit, our initial experience was a bit scary, coz we got there late at night. The boats have no lights (we were warned) coz they usually do not travel after dark. So going to the hotel (built on the lake) on a pretty low gondola... More

To be able to explore lake properly you need at least 2 days, preferably 3. It has so much to offer, in both variety and quality. My wife and I were picked up by our prearranged guide at Heho airport. It is normally a 45 minute drive to the lake from the airport but to add a bit of early... More
