I took a boat ride along the Ayeyarwaddy river from Mandalay to Mingun and back. A good way to enjoy the breeze and looking at life along the riverbank. I would suggest taking a boat then driving to Mingun.

Sit back in the shade on the top deck of your boat, sip a drink and watch the world go by. Enjoy a fabulous locally-made lunch on the boat. Stop at various places for sight-seeing. Couldn't be more relaxing than that!

We had a great day cruising up to Mingun. The river was alive with local traffic and it was so interesting to see the life on the river. Well worth a trip if you have the time.
