Less for the tourists, more for the locals. Some local restaurants and shops surround the pagoda, together with a river creek.

Other pagodas in the city might be more interesting but this doesn't come far along. If you are in Bago, you should give this a go.

...then visit Bago. It is about 2 hours from Yangon and there are several places to visit. Worth it! :)

This is a famous pagoda for local people, not touristic like Palace or other pagoda. Small creek is good to swim but not too much clean and eating the pickled fish cake salad with toddies juice is the way local people do. It's more like...More
