Hire a motorbike taxi for whole day trip because of this place. South from Mandalay, and people coming here mostly is for sunset. Boat hire is available, and most of the travel groups will arrange for their clients. A nice photo can be taken during boat ride but it is not necessary since you can take the photo at the... More

Really special to watch the bridge emerge from the dark at sunrise, relaxing start to the day and perfect to see the silhouettes of the monks passing in the morning, around 30 minutes from the Mandalay city (at that time of the morning when there is no traffic!)

Oldest bridge w an interesting history! Should come here during sunset! The scenery is just wonderful. Don't be fooled by the Burmese who sell keychains/necklace and bracelet by some sort of watermelon seeds. But they're not watermelon seeds..

I would rather recommend sunset time rather than noon time. Was there at sunset time, such a nice view all around. Pleasure to walk on bridge, it was long way, at least good to see. Don't miss it peeps!

This was my 3rd sunset visit to U Bein bridge and the experience has changed dramatically in 2 years. On this visit our arrival was greeted by thumping loud music booming from one of the adjacent shops that immediately destroyed the expectation evoked by its countless photos of tranquility and serenity. The bridge is one mass of humanity until approx... More

On my visit it was packed out with people which made walking on the bridge very dangerous and made you watch your footing rather than the views around. I opted to stand on the river bank and get my sunset photos. Because there were a lot of people it made leaving particularly slow and tedious. Would recomend going when its... More

We took a boat out on the river at sunset, it was just stunning. We were very fortunate that it was a perfect sunset. Many other boats also, but plenty of room for everyone, A MUST DO activity. Some boats were serving wine too!
