Until you get to the bridge, you can't get the feel of uniqueness about this attraction. Great place for photo ops. We did not get here for sunset, so it was not hugely crowded, yet there were quite many. We walked on the bridge for few meters. Stayed on the shelter in midst of the bridge for several minutes. There... More

Interesting site to visit if you have the time. It was nice to see and a pretty drive to get there...however, it would have been okay if we missed it.

This bridge will probably be on your list of places to visit as it is unusual and there is little to compare it with elsewhere. For that alone it is worth the trip. However it is the feel of the place with hundreds of locals excitedly walking up and down and all sorts of unexpected things to see that make... More

The lake and this bridge is not super beautiful. There are so many people and cars and trash when I went. However, if you happen to be there, calm boat ride was super nice, especially right before sunset. You can take a small picnic and boat person will usually stand still for you view sun going down by the bridge.

This bridge is very popular, for a good reason: the scenery is beautiful, especially at dusk. That's also the main problem. It gets really crowded at dusk. It’s still possible to enjoy the views though. I’d guess the best option would be to come before dawn.

In Amarapura we headed to the U Bein Bridge, so named after the man who built it in 1850 from wood reclaimed from the Royal Palace in Ava, it’s one thousand and eighty six pillars span the one point two kilometre lake. It’s reputed to be the oldest and longest teak wood bridge in existence. The middle section seems to... More

Amazing 2km long bridge made of teak with no railings on both sides! Make for an exciting walk but beware of being pushed accidentally when it gets too crowded!! Highlight was taking a boat from somewhere half way across the bridge(where there is a stairway to go down for a drink of coconut water) to the shore. We were very... More

As we are staying over Mandalay for a night, we opt to go U Bein Bridge instead of Mandalay hill. Try to visit in the late afternoon as It's a nice place to see sunset but it's overly crowded.

I was worried that I would be put off by how busy the bridge is with tourists. We went around lunch time and it was quite busy, but worth going to. We walked about half way out and enjoyed the views, glad we didn't go with the sunset rush. You can still enjoy the views in the day time and... More

Nice place to visit, very popular with tourists and locals. LONG bridge that is fun to walk and watch people. We rented a dugout canoe or gondola to watch the sunset from the boat.
