Asen's Monument is very impressive! It is located in the center of Veliko Tarnovo and it is a symbol of the city. I love it!

This giant structure in the middle of town is uniquely ugly. Finished in 1987, it perresents the height of the Soviet-imposed artistic style before its collapse. Add the decay after years of neglect and the result is a crumbling, grafiti covered conglomerate of iron and...More

Impressive monument erected in a very beautiful location, visible from many places in the city. Nice for pictures or for history lovers.

Elevated in a central location in the city and visible from all sides, the monument rises above the river and reminds of the glorious past of the Asenev Dynasty. The view to and from the memorial place is wonderful.

You can see the monument from many vantage points but it's not so easy to find how you get to it. Definitely worth seeing. It is beside the Art Gallery where you can have a drink or a coffee outside.
