The entire building is full of works and installations and will require dedication of at least half a day to be explored with quality. The most interesting thing is to have contact with different types of arts and concepts in a single space, for all tastes, helping visitors to better understand the differences and which ones they connect with most. There are works by several well-known artists exhibited there and the place is very clean, with good infrastructure and security, in addition to having free luggage storage, making the tour easier. The viewpoint is a delightful rooftop that is next to the space's bar and restaurant, the view of São Paulo, with its skylines of buildings, contrasting with the wooded area of Ibirapuera Park is a show in itself, especially on a sunset at a beautiful day. The location is even next to the park, with a bridge that connects both, making access easier.

Everyone always goes toe Ibirapuera park, which is definitely a must, but if you cross the bridge over Av Pedro Alves you find the MAC museum. This museum has 8 floors for exhibition. Currently there is a really cool exhibition where you walk in an wooden tunnel. There is also a Picasso, Matisse and other well known art pieces. The best part is that the 8th floor gives you 360 panoramic view of Sao Paulo, and it is for free! It is kid friendly and I even took a stroler!

PROS:
really great contemporary art pieces;
At least 4/5 floors of art on display;
Amazing views on the rooftop;
Restaurant/bar available;
FREE entrance.

CONS:
Security in each floor kept talking loudly to each other (and I mean LOUD) and playing stuff on their mobile phones. Zero attention to visitors. Pitty.
Also, no exhibit booklet/catalog/etc.

To sum things up, great place. I definitely recommend.
If you’re into contemporary art, definitely go.
If you just want the views, go as well.

…………There are loads of free parking on the grounds of this museum and on top of it there are manned security gates. When we visited here it was a public holiday in Sao Paulo so it was very full. The building is modern and very big and nice. Lots of contemporary art to see although not been art experts we enjoyed what was on display most-lii sculptures of one or other sorts. The children visiting here today real-lii enjoy the giant size furry cat on display on the ground floor. There is a big restaurant inside the museum on the mezzanine floor and a bigger one in the center of the top floor. There are about seven floors of different art exhibitions taking place at one time but our time was limited so we just walk up two floors and took the left to the eight floor the top of the building. The panoramic-views which are to be observed here on the top of the buildings out-look areas north, south, east and west are just awesome and breathtaking-lii beautiful, the city below with it’s free-way networks, the tall buildings all to one side of Sao Paulo, the obelisk in the distance and also the Ibirapuera Park all 158 hectares. This is a must visit venue when in Sao Paulo. Most local guides will bring you here and if you are on your own make a point of coming around here and spend enough time to try to see everything and entree is free of charge………….

The MAS USP is a nice museum to visit as there are 6 floors of different exhibits. The restaurant on mezzanine serves great light food with a spectacular view of the park. After lunch, you can cross over to visit the Ibirapuera Park and all it has to offer. After 6pm go back to MAC USP to the rooftop for drinks at the bar (opens after 6pm) and check out another amazing view of the city. Parking easy. Staff nice. Exibits well taken care of and nice to visit. I highly recommend.

A short walk across a pedestrian bridge from Ibirapuera Park, you will come upon the very fine Museum of Contemporary Art. The seven exhibit floors take you through the world of 20th and 21st century art, from the well-known “traditional” works of (Picasso, Matisse, De Chirico, Modigliani, Chagall, Leger, et al) and their Brazilian contemporaries (such as Brecheret, Martins, and Rego Monteiro) to more experimental and everything goes 21st century works. One floor had a surprisingly interesting mid- 20th Century exhibit of anti-colonial and revolutionary works. The political content seems kind of dated, but the techniques in many of the pieces are very interesting. For something completely different, on the eighth floor rooftop you get a breathtaking 360 degree view of Sao Paulo in its vastness.

Here you won’t find the multiple masterpieces of the 20th century greats that you will see in better known museums around the world, but you will find enough to satisfy and you will also get to see many fine works by Brazilian and other artists not usually found in those same “name” museums.

I was visiting Ibirapuera park and started my visit by seeing this MAC which is in 7 floors, but on that day it was only 4 floors and the rest were doing some restoration work. The art work was very nice, but unfortunately there were no English descriptions of the art work, except for a paragraph by the curators in each section. So you get the general idea about the artist but not about a specific painting or sculpture.

But the view from the 8th floor was excellent. I could see the city from the top and day was very clear, so worth the time I spent visiting MAC. And there is no entrance fee.

Laid out over seven floors, the museum has many small, well-curated exhibition spaces. The art is generally excellent, with an emphasis on South American artists. The view from the roof is also amazing.

The museum has many floors full of exhibitions and a respectable collection (a famous Picasso painting is on one of them). I took few photos on the terrace but it is beautiful and has a really nice coffee maker 😋

Free entry, but the exhibitions are really contemporary, we particularly liked the observation deck on the 8th floor more than the exhibitions, it has a very good view.
