Neighbourhood:
Sé, which derives its name from Sé Square, is a central neighbourhood in historic São Paulo. Close by, the Law School, the Museum of the Court of Justice and the Metropolitan Cathedral offer inspiring architecture. If you are looking for cultural activities, head to Caixa Cultural and check the schedule. In the area there is a popular pedestrian street called “Rua Direita”, one of the first streets in the region, which today marks the crowded perimeter. Sé is a great area to explore during daytime, but use caution if visiting alone at night.

The mall is very similar to others we visited. The Nike outlet store had a few goid bargains but it’s not worth driving out here if you are based on the opposite side of Sao Paulo. Having said that, the mall was beautifully decked out for the festive season.

In the heart of São Paulo downtown, Shopping Light is an outlet mall in the city with very good options, such as Nike Factory Store, Lacoste Outlet, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger and other local stores. Albeit in a historical building, it is not a luxurious place; it is rather popular in fact. Moving around is not that easy: esclators are set in ways that you have to wallk all floors to go up and down. That's not so good if you are in a hurry. Some good fast food options on the 5th floor (McDonald's and other local brands). The churros place on ground floor is my favourite.

This is a popular shopping mall in the historic but rundown center and has nothing of interest for the tourist except a place to change money and a food court. The stores and restaurants are run of the mill.

It is not a modern American-style mall but an imposing six-story building dating from the early part of the 20th century when the downtown area was still elegant and respectable.

It is opposite the Teatro Municipal and next to the Viaduto do Cha, an area that is more or less safe during the day but to be avoided in the evenings.

The shopping center itself is cramped with a layout that is not only confusing but, in my opinion, dangerous. The escalators do not run from the top floor to the ground level so the visitor has to walk from the fourth floor down a dark narrow stairwell. The elevators are tiny, slow and hidden away.

The ceilings on some floors are very low which not only gives a claustrophobic feeling but also intensifies the noise level in the food court.

I dread to think what would happen should there ever be a fire in this place.

There are several stores with different brands, out lets, but you need to look carefully to get a good discount, at least for the sneakers, which is what we were looking for, but we found some that were well worth it. good structure, nice food court too
