How to visit São Paulo and not know any of its many shopping malls? And inside all of them, I recommend "Iguatemi Shopping" Mall. Conceived by the builder Alfredo Mathias, the development was erected on the land of a farm of the Matarazzo family. It was on a stretch of Iguatemi Street - hence its name - that years later... The oldest mall in America Latina. There are only the top stores in town. Definitely not a place to by a spare shirt only because you spilled something on it at lunch. The movie theatre is just like any other Cinemark. (At least) The food court is actually okay for business lunch or something.

Iguatemi São Paulo is the first mall of Brazil opened in the 60´s. The perfect architecture gives a "unique' touch to this mall and transfers you some decades ago and that is the reason that a simple visit can be transformed in a unique experience. There you can find all the famous international and local brands, a lot of restaurants,... More

It's too expensive! Prices are 3x more expensive than in Europe. And employers are unpolite. Don't spend so much money if you can buy the same stuff for lot of less money

Beautiful mall! Definetely a very high end mall in a premium location. It has a great food court with many choices. It also has different restaurants spread along the mall. It is very difficult to mive around, and the staff speaks only portuguese which males it really difficult to navigate through such a large building. It has many nice attractions... More

The Iguatemi shopping mall is a very elegant and expensive mall, chock full of international brand stores that mostly have little to do with Brazil. One of the stores in the mall, however, is the H.Stern jewelry store, which is very well known Brazilian brand. On Sunday, July 24, I made one small purchase at the H. Stern store in... More

McMall. Nothing of cultural or architectural value at all. Shops of international brands offering products at much higher prices than in US and European cities. Local brands have very low quality merchandise.

Staying in Jardins

Neighbourhood Profile
Located just below important Paulista Avenue, Jardins is the junction of four smaller neighbourhoods: Jardim Paulista, Jardim América, Jardim Europa and Jardim Paulistano. It is an upper-class area, offering a variety of things to do, including shopping, museums and parks. The neighbourhood is well known for “Oscar Freire”– the most luxurious street in the city, packed with high-end boutiques. In Jardins you will also find a trendy museum, São Paulo Museum of Image and Sound (MIS), which people often line up for hours to visit. If green space is what you're after, take time to relax at Trianon Park, a refuge in the heart of Paulista Avenue.
