Obelisk of São Paulo is a 72 meters tall monument in Ibirapuera Park in the great city of Sao Paulo, Brazil. The Park houses many historic and cultural monuments. The Obelisk was inaugurated in 1955, one year after the opening of Ibirapuera Park. It is...More

I was surprised by the nice sanctuary below the obelisk which was free entrance. The obelisk itself is cool, but there's no real added value to go closer as you can't mount it. It's next to the Ibirapuera park on a busy cross roads.

This can be seen from anywhere near or within the park. Clean architecture but not worth a particular visit. Spend your time in the park and view from a distance

The obelisk is so high and it can been seen from the park. It is a symbol for Brazil but as a sculpture is not something special. Visit it only if you want to take some pictures of it.

It is worth having a look at, but I would not suggest making a trip just to see it. Perhaps you might go to it if you are in the park anyway.

Go to the inside and breath the peace. A homage to the fallen of the constitutionalist Revolution in 1932, is more beautiful from the inside.

Not very special and not worth a visit just for the obelisk. You can see it from the park and that's plenty enough.

It´s a very large place, immersed in a cream color, and full of archades. I found discrete dozens of ossuaries with names of men dead during and after the Revolution of 1932. Since I was there at the 9th July, very date of anniversary of...More
