I was impressed that market has an organic meats and produce section. I had to go there for my exotic tropical fruits and for the Peruvian parsnips known as batatas baroas or batatas salsas. And this market has it all for reasonable prices.

His market, has reached its centennial year in 2008. Designed by the famous architect Ramos de Azevedo, is the oldest "mall" in town. There you can find ingredients for the traditional feijoada as well as other not so usual items.

Yes, it's safe as Batel is the rich neighborhood. I have not heard of Gallerie Shopping.
