Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We loved the lighthouse. Looks great from a distance. Interesting to visit. The wee café is nice.
The gift shop limited but then this is a small one off place compared to large galleries who have higher budgets.
I went up the lighthouse but don’t like heights. Thankfully there was no-one else up there other than an official person.
The view is good. Just don’t look down.
Everyone there is very nice, friendly and helpful.

Climb up the hill to get a closer view of the lighthouse. Once of the hill, you have magnificent views of the beaches below. Only down fall is that you can’t enter the lighthouse as it belongs to the military.

Incredible vistas, beautiful lighthouse and charming small town around it. Definetly worth the visit. The pictures you can take here are breathtaking.

After walking 10 kms thru very beautiful and lonely beaches, we reached the 'Farol of Santa Marta' and its town (for fishermen and vacationers).
(It can also be reached by a road (14 kms), after taking a Balsa from Laguna).
Nice town with a Lighthouse in a prominent Peninsula, with beautifful and tranquil beaches.
Also good food, if you like seafood (crabs and camaraos')

The beaches around the lighthouse (Barra do Camacho e Praia do Cardoso) are just great. Around the lighthouse there are a lot of small hotels with simple yet good infrastructure. The access to the place is very easy if you have a car. Definitelly worth going.

Even though we could not see the sunrise the view from the lighthouse is very beautiful and we can see some beaches and the see from there. You cannot access the interior of the lighthouse but the trip is worthy.

The access is terrible with bumpy dirt roads. The beaches are beautiful
We're here for the new year celebration had loads of fun dancing on the beach at midnight with hundreds of others. The locals were warm and friendly. Most hotels are not air conditioned so if you like it cool at night be careful
The restaurants were very good with loads of seafood. Not much to to except shopping eating and the beach. Of course many people want just that
The area could use a general clean up and many buildings need a fix up. But we had fun

The place is one of the most cherished spot of the local surfers The acess is still a bit of adventure but already much better than a few years back. But still mind the sand traps ! During the week end and high season it is always packed. The rest of the time you can hardly find souls there ... The lighthouse stands on a small hill which you can acess and go round. It belongs to the Brazilian marine and visit is not allowed. From the top you can enjoy good views on the surf beaches with a lot of wind to freshen up. Unfortunately it is all there is to be seen ! I could not find a restaurant open to have lunch. Got away with a coconut and a local cheese bread. In my opinin it is not worth a visit.

Worth the trip but some parts of the route are on very tricky roads even by Brazilian standards and you have to take the ferry if you come from Laguna

Written 26 October 2016
No hay movida nocturna ya que es una playa muy chiquita. Te sugiero hacer a tus asados en la casa o hotel juntamente con tus amigos.
Hay como uno solo bar en la playa...
