The guides are very friendly and willing to answer questions and explain about the history of the place and the city. There are complete collections of furniture and porcelain, very well displayed. There is a cottage for the Prince of Joinville and Princess Dona Francisca. Newlyweds received a dowry that was donated to the colonization with foreigners. The couple never came here, but there are many objects of that time.

A must stop if you want to know about the local history. Here you will get to know why the European culture is so present in Joinville. Free entry. Near city centre. Easy access by public transport. Near the Cathedral too!

Very interesting museum about the early history of the city, mainly about the German immigrants, I love the house behind the museum, a true relic, transported piece by piece from the outskirts of the city to the grounds of the museum. the place is dear to my heart since I was born and raised in Joinville, and as a child... Very interesting to have a look at the immigration in southern Brazil. Not the best nor the biggest. Blumenau has a better all around felling of the immigration.

This museum is well laid out and admission is free. You need to put your camera in a secure locker. The curator will explain the layout of the building and tell you a bit about the background history of German and Scandinavian settlers, mostly of Lutheran background and how they came to purchase land in this region of Brazil After...
