Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you look at Florianopolis, then this is what you will find; pictures of this iconic bridge. Talking to the locals, you will hear that the bridge has been under renovation for many years, unfortunately due to corruption a lot of money had gone to waste and it is taking much more time than planned. It is nice to see for 5 minutes, but is a bit out of the route to go here. Not a lot of other things around.

It has been closed a long time ago and there's not much perspective to see it open again. I have crossed it many times by car or walking and I feel a kind of nostalgia looking at it. As we say, it is our post card and shouldn't be as it is now. Nevertheless, is something you must see in Florianopolis.

As a native in Florianópolis, I really like this bridge, a great simbol for us. Nowadays, it is just a postcard: we cannot cross, join, ect. I really Suggest you visit Forte San'tana and then be really close to the bridge. You have at least more 3 viewpoints: from Parque da Luz, an amazing sunset around Terminal Rita Maria. and from Beira Mar do Estreito, continent part

It is an Engineering marvel, but It is not beautiful in itself. If have the time and are around, go to the viewing point. If not, dont bother.

This is the old bridge, which has completely gone out of order since the construction of the other adjacant new bridge connecting the continent with the island. It is nice to go there in the evening when it is beautifully lit or to watch it from a nocturnal landing plane, like I did tonight when coming back from Brasilia.

The bridge is in the process (2018) of being deconstructed. This project is expected to last ten years, and won't be complete until 2028. At time of writing the suspension cables had been removed and six tower cranes were in place to dismantle the remaining structures and towers. The twin bridges (Gov. Sales and Gov. Campos) have long since replaced the Luz Suspension Bridge.

The bridge is a landmark for Florianopolis. It is at the moment under reconstruction, for an incredible amount of money. It will be a beautiful entrance when you pass the (new) bridge from land-side Florianopolis to island-Floripa. Avoid rush hours or you will for sure have a much longer view that expected.

A must see. The landmark of Florianopolis is this old beautiful iron bridge. It is currently undergoing a lengthy restoration, but you can easily get an impression of it.
