Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Best sight-seeing activity in Natal. These dunes are encrusted in the middle of the city, but are large enough to give a desert feeling. Our buggy driver (hired through Luck Receptivo) was NOT sensitive to the needs of an older tourist in the car. There is a LOT of room for improvement here to serve older and/or handicapped tourists.

Great trip for family and couples, visit serval beaches, and very exciting with several vertical drops that will please those looking for excitement, more tradicional dune drives can be done, just make sure you tell your driver before!

Ask the trip 'com emoção' - really worth it (except if you sufffer from heart or anxiety). It becames a bit expensive in the last year but it's still worth it

Fun trip through the dunes but you stop at many locations to buy additional services. Overall it is best to book the buggies in tje village santa rita before you entre the main tourists areas. We could save 50% by doing so.

We loved the sand dune ride. Our driver was Francisco and we decided to do the tour with Emocao (Thrill) which he didn't failt to deliver! We arranged our tour through the Manary hotel who introduced us to Felipe (skype: filipe.natal.cariri.ecotours)

Well, where do we start? A buggy picks you up at your hotel. And then off to another hotel to grab another couple. (hope there not too large, the buggy is quite small). Then it is moving on down the road. In 20 minutes you turn off the main road and head into the sand dunes. After only 5 minutes more, you stop on a hill w/ 20 other buggies to take some pictures. Here is where the sell begins. The ask if you want to get on top of a donkey to take a picture. Why, who knows?? The views are nice and then your off for another thrilling 5 minutes riding on the sand dunes. There all heck breaks loose and you come upon a camp of touts. You can snowboard on the sand, buy just about anything from the vendors, or, get this, ride a camel. Not sure if camels are indigenous to Brasil, but who knows? After that, you actually get to cruise around on the Dunes, which are beautiful. In another 10 minutes, the next stop. You can take a sled down a hill and crash into the water, not sure how much for that or you can shoot down a water slide. Then you proceed down the beach, where, you guessed it, they try to sell you food (tiny lobsters and squid) and always overpriced beer. Next is trip further down the beach, where you have to pay to get on a Balsa(ferry) to cross a river. (They try to sell the pix on the way back). Next stop is a buffet restaurant, which was quite expensive, but tasted good. On the way back, the buggy driver stops at a Lagoon. Why, we were not sure! We spend 45 min. on this tiny pond, where they try to sell you MORE, OVERPRICED items. Finally, this was it for touts and we headed back to our hotel. That is when the heavens opened up and I have never been that wet in my life(even swimming in the ocean). The actual ride could have taken 2 hours, but it lasted a brutal 6 hours. BE AWARE!!!! Others we talked to, loved the trip, but I wanted to let you know our experience. Happy Travels!!

The sand dunes are simply breathtaking! Wherever you look, the view is just spectacular! The images found on the Internet are just a hint of the beauty of the place! The buggy trip to the sand dunes is a must: you’ll be delighted all the way, not only with the views but also with the beaches and lagoons, not to mention the river crossing on a raft! The only snag is that trip ends in Porto Mirim, at a beach restaurant that offers uninspiring food at much higher prices than the best restaurants in Natal.
If you plan to take the buggy trip to the Genipabu sand dunes, avoid hiring the services of Mr. Luis J. We had a bad experience with him. While we negotiated the trip, he was amiable, and said that we could count on him “not just as a guide for the sand dunes, but also and mainly as a friend”. We asked if we could pay by cards, and he said yes, certainly. So we agreed on a trip for the next morning, and we hired a buggy just for us, for 500 reais. Coming the morning, he wanted to charge extra 50 reais, and asked to be paid in cash. We reminded him of what was agreed the day before, and reluctantly he said OK, and that on returning from the dunes we’d stop by his office for the payment by card. On returning, to our dismay, at his office his secretary announced that they only took debit cards, not credit cards, as was implied from the initial agreement. After some argument with Mr. Luis J., we produced our debit cards, but the card terminal simply wouldn't work! Instead of apologizing for the faulty terminal, Mr. Luis J. became angry and aggressive, and said that he had “trusted us and we did not have the money to pay him”. To end the distressful argument, we agreed to be taken to a nearby ATM to get the cash. So, if you don’t want to spoil your vacation in the beautiful city of Natal, avoid hiring the services of Mr. Luis. J., as unfortunately he does not seem to be a man of his words.

The dunes are beautiful and worth a buggy ride. I wish we'd gotten to spend more time zooming up/down the dunes and less time stopping for photo-ops (where locals would try to talk us into donkey rides or camel rides or silly photos for a "tip"). We also spent too much time on a flat beach rather than the dunes. Most tours seemed to have the same itinerary/path.

Oi, Wania. Tudo bem?
