Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

When I went to the hill, it was still possible to visit. Perfect for beautiful afternoon photos. My visit was to watch the sunset with champagne and breakfast, prepared by the hired guide. The coolest thing is that it was still possible to make the skybunda, however, the climb was walking this wall. As I saw today, the visit is no longer possible due to the depreciation of the hill. At the time, they were starting to limit the number of people at the venue. Only those who hired executive tour but the service had to be hired in advance.

It is not possible to climb the hill due to preservation. The beach below the hill, Ponta Negra, is very simple and has a very narrow strip of sand, I believe that in high season it can be a little chaotic. It's a totally tourist region, full of hotels, restaurants and little shops, but everything is very simple. The kiosks along the waterfront are very simple and have more or less the same price (average of 100 reais for a meal for two people). I think it's worth the trip. The Jangalancha leaves from the base of the hill, I didn't take the tour but it seems like a good option to get to know the region better

Morro do Careca (“bald hill” in Portuguese) is the main symbol and a common sight on tourist postcards of the city of Natal and the state of Rio Grande do Norte. It has a height of 120 meters (390 ft), with a margin determined by vegetation. It is located in the extreme south of Ponta Negra Beach – the capital's most famous beach.
In the past, Morro do Careca was a spot for recreation and entertainment. The bathers and tourists would climb up the hill and come down with the help of a device called skibunda (“bunda” is Portuguese for “butt”—you’d sit on a board and ski down the slope). Since the end of the 1990s, it has been closed to visitors. The reason for the closure was to protect the dunes; the preservation of the vegetation will aid in safeguarding against erosion, ensuring that the sand does not slip and thus reduce the height of the hill. At present, all activity on the dune remains suspended.
The scene also brings together a sea full of bathers, surfers, windsurfers and kitesurfers, in addition to the stand-up paddle crowd. It is frequented by locals and tourists, who fill the tents on the boardwalk and the shore. The best spot for bathing is in the right corner, between the end of the boardwalk and Morro do Careca. There, the sea is calmer and also has the long-time restaurant, the Old Five Beach Bar.

We climbed the bald hill thinking we would have a panoramic view of the city, you can't see anything, high walls. The hill is only worth looking at from afar, as the narrow streets, with loose cobblestones and potholes, are a precarious area. And at the base of the hill, there aren't many places to park, and the few there are are 20 caregivers for 1 space. They keep disturbing you, to the point that I feel disgusted by the place.

So the closer you get to the hill, the more expensive it is. Not to mention that the tide really "eats up" the beach by 2 pm tops. We were at Carlos kiosk right by the last access to the beach and the experience was terrible. Check was way more expensive that previously agreed, not to mention that they charge for the stretchers without telling you. Tourist trap!

Lot of 'kioskos' (beach chiringuitos) - my favorite is N°5, from Ignacio.
Lot of seller's on the beach, you can have great pancakes (try carne de sol com queijo or Chocolate / banana), Great skewers (best are camaroes), drinks, and much much more. All good and at cheap price.
Nice big waves every day, sea water is hot all year long, great views.
Just take care about the tide, sometimes at high tide the beach becomes very narrow.

I've been everywhere in this planet and I can tell you that this corner of Ponta Negra is the perfect spot.Warm crystal clear water, friendly and polite locals, nice and cheap places to eat! Felt safe all the time. What else can you ask for?

It is the main natural attraction in Natal (appart from the beach, of course) but as you can not climb it for preservation, I believe, you just get there, take the photo, and ... nothing else. We took a bath in the beach next, rented a beach umbrella with two loung chairs for a few reais, but you must be aware of the sea tides, because it grows up fast, and you must leave the umbrella or ask to be relocated.

Can not mis it when you are at ponta negra beach. Do not go there at night, it is not safe.
In front of the Morro de Careca you can take some beautiful pictures. It is not allowed to climb the Morro de careca.
