Neighbourhood: Urca
Urca is one of the oldest areas in Rio. Known for its incredible views of the city, the neighbourhood runs along Guanabara bay, providing visitors with an opportunity to watch the sunset from one of Rio’s greatest natural treasures: Sugarloaf Mountain (Pao de Acucar). It is said that the locals in Urca are “bon vivant,” which is one of the reasons the area attracts people of all styles and ages. Urca is the perfect place to take a stroll and appreciate the area’s beautiful architecture, enjoy a cocktail and some delicious seafood pastries at a bar, or bring a bottle of wine and enjoy it while sitting anywhere along the stone seawall known as the “mureta.”

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a popular place in Rio to watch the sunset while drinking a beer. Bring a reusable cup so you don't need to use the disposable ones and make sure you don't leave any garbage behind ;) like many people unfortunately do.

Really casual, seems to attract a very diverse crowd. Great for people watching. You can buy a beer and finger food from nearby restaurants or one of the street vendors

To have an afternoon in the wall of the Urca next to the bars of its border, like the Bar Urca, the Girl of Urca are opportunities to enjoy what the carioca's does. Especially on the beautiful afternoons of April and May where the city sky is clean and blue, it makes that moment an odd moment. Having the chance to watch the sunset in a "carioca style atmosphere", filled with people in light and loose prose, accompanied by friends or the loved one for a bossa nova style beer is something very special.

The most famous part of the wall is right in front of bar urca because drinks and food are just a narrow street away. However, if you like to explore, this is a great neighborhood to do so on foot. The view is great, there are beaches and an important part of the city history,
If you decide to explore, don't be shy and make sure to bring your own beer as you leave the neighborhood following the wall and enjoying a cold beer.

This place is very famous. It's a wall close to a range of bars. So we can pick up your drink and have a seat with your friends. The view is very beautiful...with the boats and the coast.

Another Rio de Janeiro, calmer, even more friendlier, with a charm that takes you back in time to the 50's, that is what awaits you there.

There is a bar there, by the mureta (small wall) where there serve the coldest beer and the most delicious snacks such a codcake, shrimp "pasteis" , and so many more. Go there in the afternoon or begining of the evening for a great end of the day, it´s always very crowded you just have to find your space along the wall to enjoy.

No domingo como fica o movimento na mureta? Os bares ficam abertos até que horas?
Written 23 July 2017
Não tenho certeza do horário, fui no verão, e cedo. Saimos em torno das dezenove horas. O lugar é residencial por isso acho que encerra cedo o movimento. Valeu a pena.
