we left this for the last day and the weather was terrible but we had no choice. I am actually glad as I have seen photos of how crowded it gets - there were not many people at all and we got lots of close up photos. Only thing is we saw no view of Rio at all but we... More

Many of us have seen the pictures on television or in holiday brochures and of course in 2016 during the Olympics but the experience of being there is something very special. Often the statue is covered in cloud but that doesn't take away from actually standing underneath it. It's easy to get to but book your train ticket ahead of... More

This is the must do attraction in Rio. We took a van from Cpoacabana mid morning and did not have to queue too much. The van takes you to the park entrance then you walk a little down the hill and another van takes you to the top,or at least within walking distance. Quite a few steep steps to climb... More

We hired a car to drop us off at the cog train and had to wait approximately 45 minutes or so before boarding. It was very crowded and humid so it is a good idea to be patient and drink plenty of water. Once at the top you walk up several steps to the statue. It is amazing and the... More

We took the 9:20 am train and there were already a crowd of people at the top. Make sure you book your train ahead of time. There was already a two hour wait if you didn't prebook. There are two ways to get to the top; the railway (I recommend) or the van system that will pick you up at... More

This was our first stop on our memorable tour of Rio and it was majestic. Although I had seen the statute in pictures, movies and the Olympics hundreds of times, it is so much more special in person. We went early and missed the crowds, making the visit even better. Indeed, that night when we left Rio on our cruise... More

This a must see when in Rio. The day we went it was cloudy and a little chilly, but even with the clouds there was still a rather decent view of the city. The train ride up the mountain was actually fun and at certain points, provides wonderful views of the city. Again it was really crowded and foggy so... More

Because it is 750 metres to the feet of the statue it is high to start with and you get views for miles. The statue itself is very big and you have to lie down to take pictures. It is a must see if you go to Rio. Again go early as it gets very crowded up there and it... More

It's a nice place to visit there in Rio de Janeiro, but you should not go by van unless during the morning. Queue out and inside the park are very, but very, long-termed. You could take a bus and the train, then saving a lot of time.

We hiked thru the woods and it was a nice way to do it. It was hard at times as the trail was steep. But there was monkeys and beautiful sights. The statue was also a spectacular sight as well as the view from up there. It's worth going there.
