We perform checks on reviews.
Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The waves & water are the best in whole Rio de Janeiro city.

The people around usualy came from low class part of the neibohood, they are more simple. Plenty of alcohol on kiosks, I think, colourful adults drinks got more usually with brand & blendings then other beachs in Rio.

There´s a lot surfing. Two big rocks to be explored, one very easy to walk over, the other with, 1or 2 levels climbing.

Other significant thing is you may find more local kids, specially in the weekends.

Like other beach its coupled with WC stations & kioskes with warm food!
I think during the 60´s & 70´s there was many set of film there , or from that time til nowadays still very popular keepinf film set for commercials & tv programs. There's a lot of internacional surf festivals there. I can count that beach is the most photografed beach in Rio.

Very nice beach near barra, reserva and recreio - worth cycling from recreio - just 2 km or even from reserva.

Great beach far from the chaos of central Rio, or the crowded bustle of Ipanema. The protected beach at the eastern corner, by Morro de Pontal, is great for swimming and for surfing beginners/longboarders.

When we went to Praia da Macumba, the beach was empty and there were not waves in the sea. Although it's very far away compared to the traditional beaches we hear of in Rio, the water was great, and the sand was also to lie down and get some tan.

It is the only beach that you cannot see from the street in Rio. It is the beach for surfing, right after the end of Barra Beach. Nice stop on the way to Prinha and Grumari

It used to be beautiful. It still is, but occupation got out of hand. On weekdays can be a nice visit. Clean waters, I suppose.

Beautiful beach, good to stay as it has a good movement of kiosks, I stopped by with my colleagues just to see the fair and take some photos. But it is very beautiful to stay and rest for a while. There are several restaurants around it.
