The best carnaval in Rio is on the streets! Wake up early and follow the drums around the city! Always lovely people enjoying themselves, beer promo and fun everywhere!

Was the aqueduct back along time ago and now is a viaduct which cars pass through and around all day long. At night and at Carnival, this area comes alive and remains vibrant all night every night with great bars and meeting places. Careful after dark but ok to go to but pay attention.

Came at night for the parties. This was a really nice backdrop. Super packed at night. It was the Olympics but I think it's always packed.

Lapa is full of nightclubs and bars that are constantly surrounded by music, the drinks and the food are generally cheap around the area

Nice to see combined with Escalaria Saleron and Centro but not worth it in itself. Great views of his and down town from Parque Ruinas. Lots of people sleeping rough here hence the warning
