Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I'm not a hiker, so this hike was very hard for me and we got dropped off about 20 minutes down the road from the main entrance, not good.
Once you get to the top it was worth every sweat and tear I shed on the hike up. Amazing views. I recommend going early, wear comfortable shoes, bring lots of water and don't booze the night before.

We took and uber right to start of the hike (highly advised). Otherwise you have alot more to walk from the bottom.
The hike took around 40mins as we took our time and stopped in the middle. And around 25mins coming down.
The hike is definitely worth it! Once at the top you will be mesmerized by the views. It's totally out this world. And not many people either!
We stayed at the top for around 45mins, taking some nice pictures.
Take plenty of water, and wear comfy trainers.

This was my first time hang gliding, and I could not think of a better location to have done it! Between the views the adrenaline, I cannot describe how amazing this experience was. Well worth the money! As a first time jumper, I was admittedly overrun with adrenaline, but Ricardo was very professional, calm, and clear in his instructions. This made the experience smooth and free of any issues. Highly recommend you check this off your bucket list, if you make it down to Rio.

The trail is quiet, what is really tiring is the hill that you need to climb to access the trail entrance. When you finally arrive at the start of the trail, you are already tired of the hill. In general, the view is beautiful and it is very busy there, but it is essential to take repellent. Another important thing to be aware of is that the descent has some sections that are a little slippery, children may have more difficulty.

Great track for beginners! I have had the opportunity to do this track with my parents, my husband and my 4-year-old daughter.
It is worth the effort, a beautiful look! My sweetie!
Whoever, take your garbage! Do not leave there, please!!! Let's be conscious <3

On the bottom of Pedra Bonita is an office of the biggest paragliding school in the world. They have 100 instructors and each instructor is only allowed 4 flights a day. They take you up to the top of the mountain and off you go. Fabulous. If you never tried paragliding before, this is the place to do it. Spectacular views and very professional, mostly english speaking, instructors.

We took a bus 551 from Copacabana to Sao Conrado and from there took a taxi(10-12Reais) to base of Pedra Bonita. After a 5-10min walk up the steep road, just before the Parking area the hiking trail starts. The hike is around 20minutes and very easy, i could practically run through most of the time. so its easy with kids too. The view from the top is just amazing.. You can see the Christ the Redeemer statue, the Twin brother mountain the sao conrado beach, Barra de Tijuca and the surroundings. The top is a rocky flat area so u could see the entire area from there. Back to the parking area if u continue further, you could see the launch pad for hand gliders and parachute?? jumping.
PS there is a small shop near the launch pad and a place to buy water near the parking lot.

Pedra Bonita trail is one of the nicest in the city. From there you get a clear view of Sao Conrado neighbourhood and west zone of Rio, besides, it is the best view of the emperor at Pedra da Gavea. If you are looking for an expert on natural attractions that can easily take you there, I'm Vinny from @BrazilExperienceTours get in touch with us through any social media and we'll gladly help you on your stay in Rio.

I was lucky enough to be staying at a hotel just a short distance from the entrance to the Petra Bonita trail. You enter the main carpark for the trail via a very steep ramp/driveway and then follow signs for the walking trail to the summit. I wasn't driving so ran/walked the route from the road, up the ramp then up the trail. It's not a long route but it very steep in places and you gain altitude quickly. One you're at the proper summit you get panoramic views of Rio and look over where the paragliders take off.
It's worth noting that you need to sign in and out of the trail for safety purposes. To do this you need to provide your name and a passport number at the security office.
