This beach is a great alternative for families with young children as there are very few waves and the water is generally quite calm (which isn't the case with Copacabana and Ipanema). However, the sand was pretty dirty (cigarette butts, feces, misc food wrappings, etc).

Not as crowded, good sand, can get into shade under a tree as there is park next to the beachfront... Good place to have a run as you can run in the park.
