If you are interested in a war information, this is a place to visit. Nice statues outside of the museum. Located in the park in which is nice to walk after the visit.

We walked over to the military museum enticed by the beautiful monument that we had seen in the distance. There does not appear to be the appropriate infrastructure to get to the museum by foot, as this entails crossing a couple of busy roads with no pedestrian access. The monument also provides a beautiful view of the bay, and beneath... More

We walked over after visiting the Modern Art Museum (MAM), I highly recommend going while it's still sunny out. We tried to get a taxi to leave shortly after sunset and even the taxi driver warned us never to be around that area after dark...

The monument is fantastic, I love it, but I have an advice for the tourists: go there by taxi or car, i.e. never consider to cross the 'Avenue Aterro do Flamengo' in front of it by foot. It is very dangerous because of the high velocity of the cars as well as because people do not walk regularly on there.... More

Me and my 2.5 old boy went there to see a P-47 Thunderbolt exposed there. Given that he love airplanes, this was a great idea. Unfortunately the airplane is about to go back to Aerospace museum in Campo dos Afonso (deserves a visit)! At this monument you can see lots of objects from WW2 including Brazilian uniforms, utensils, weapons, etc.... More

As well as the statue there is a good museum here. For a European, it really showed me that the war really involved the whole world and soldiers from as far away as Brazil were going to the war zones, fighting and dying. The commander of the Brazilian troops campaigned for many years to bring back the soldiers who had... More

An interesting construction near the Modern Art Museum. All Brazilian soldiers that died in the second world war are buried in there.

This monument, with a beautiful modern non-traditional architecture, is remembering a history of the Brazilian soldiers in the 2nd World War. The texts (in Portugal and English) on tables and the artifacts are describing all the facts about the Brazilian participation in the 2nd WW - some of them were for me really surprising. In the first underground floor, there... More

This place has a beautiful architectural design aligned with the respect and love that should be given to those who fought and died for the cause of the common good. The bodies of the fallen and brave Brazilian soldiers are buried there along with a chapel. In addition, there is a mini-museum with artifacts and lots of information on world... More

It is a very nice monument at flamengo beach, but other than the sight there is nothing else there to capture your atention, good to view on your way to the museum of modern art though!
