Great beach

Situated right after Ipanema beach, it is just as beautiful as Ipanema, but perhaps a little quieter if you want it a little less crazy Han ipanema

Leblon beach is the continuation of Ipanema beach, heading south. It is indeed far less busy than Copacabana and probably a bit safer, although you probably should always be careful. Leblon is a more residential neighborhood and you won't find many beachfront hotels here. There is plenty of shopping and restaurants walking distance, as well as two malls.

Leblon is one of the better areas of Rio, and it's beach is less crowded than the touristy Copacabana beach. Also very nice restaurants nearby and no annoying street sellers.

If you're in Rio, chances are you're going to make time to go to the beach. Most people end up at Copacabana or Ipanema, but I highly recommend Leblon. I was staying just a few blocks away. My morning routine was to walk to the beach, stop and get an umbrella and a fresh coconut, then spend a few hours... More

It was my third time in Rio but the first at Leblon, I used to stay at Copacabana but definitely nothing better than Leblon it's not as crowded as Copacabana and Ipanema it's clean and safe. You can rent chairs at the beach at the barracas and they also have coconut water, beer and more things to drink.

Great beach, beautiful sightseeing of Morro Dos Irmaos. Clean sand, great swim with waves. Water is perfect. For usd 5 you can hire 2 beach chairs and a sun umbrella. Much more quiet and less people than in Copacabana.

Staying in Leblon

Neighbourhood Profile
In addition to being one of the most upscale neighbourhoods in the city, Leblon is charming, elegant and simple. This posh area has some of the most famous and expensive restaurants in Brazil, along with some of the city’s best nightlife (including some places open all night). One of the best places to visit is the beach, located under the impressive “Morro Dois Irmãos” (Two Brothers Hill). It’s a pleasant place to relax and admire the local beauty.
