Many beautiful people, nice vibe, It has a lot of free activities at the weekend. There is exclusive parking for disables people at the post 2, furthermore, there is an ONG called adapt surf which helps disables to reach the beach and practice surf. The place seems safe, even though I did not see many policemen.

This area of Rio is well developed and is home to the Olympic park, lots of apartment buildings, shopping malls and restaurants. The area has good transport links with the central Rio. We stayed here during the Olympic games and enjoyed its beaches few times.

We noticed right away the difference in the water clarity on a recent visit. Take the #2 bus out of Rio and get off when you hit the near end of the 11 mile stretch of beach. Just a wonderful day spent here, with plenty of vendors selling food and refreshments. If you like tourists go to Copa or Ipanema,... More

If you want to swim with the locals go the Barra. Beautiful beaches with hardly any tourists. Its away from Ipanema and Copa

Yuri is a nice, talkative and funny companion for the day. In fact you never feel like you're on the move with a tourguide but with an old friend whose introducing you into the city he grew up. And this is also the way he comes with historic knowledge, nature facts or little secrets that will make your stay in... More

It s a very lively beach which would be ranked second place after Copacabana. Many restaurants, hotels, pubs and recreational activities are seen in abundance for stretches. Restaurants come in all classes. Best for jogging and cycling as there are designated lanes for these.

We came here to watch a family member on the Paralympics. As most of the games were in this suburb of Rio , we opted to stay here. Nice beach with great sand that stretched out for miles-and it felt much safer than Rio. We didn't care for the other famous beaches in Rio- they seemed much more busier and... More

On the other side of Morro Dois Irmãoes from Praia de Leblon you find Barra de Tijuca. Head for the praia(the beach), dont wast your time on shopping. Enjoy beachlife with a cold beer never far away. The beach, which is the longest in Rio, stretches all the way along Avenida Sernambetiba all the way to O Recreio dos Bandeirantes.... More
