We visited the museum in downtown Rio this morning (it is NOT the one destroyed by fire last week). It gives an excellent overview of Brazil's history and culture.

I honestly don't know why this museum isn't busier. The admission is cheap and the quality of the exhibits is phenomenal. Almost everything here is in Portuguese as well as English so it was such a great place for us to learn about the history...More

History museum is so amazing, I was astonished. Got to know so much about history of Brazil, it was a story told by this museum with the very best images and artefacts. One of the best museums - no questions.
