Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were able to have spectacular views of the Rio-Niterói Bridge from the MSC Preziosa cruise ship that left the port bound for Denmark. It is an extraordinary work about Guanabara Bay. In front of it we see Cobra Island, which is the headquarters of the Navy Arsenal. With an extension of about 13 kilometers, it is the longest in the southern hemisphere. It was inaugurated in 1974, has a reinforced concrete structure and serves to provide road access to two important cities.

Traffic can be a nightmare in Rio these days, so drive over the bridge during the middle of the day. It is a nice view, but note that there is a toll at the other end. Also, if you accidentally enter the bridge ramp, there is no turn around. If traffic is bad, you may be a very long time getting back.

Instead take the ferryboat in Rio. Walk from Subway Carioca to the ferry. From the boat you have a wonderful view on Rio. In Niteroi you can take bus 47b, a circular, going to the Museum of Contemporary Art built by Oscar Niemeyer on a rock. Beautiful architecture, beautiful views and excellent restaurant in the MAC.

This is the longest bridge in Brazil measuring 8 miles long. It connects Rio de Janeiro and Niteroi across Guanabara Bay. Niteroi is a city of 476,000 inhabitants with lovely beaches and is a respite fro the hustle and bustle of Rio.

To go to Niteroi by car, it is the easiest way. But be aware of traffic. Some people may drive dangerously. traffic jams are frequent.

A huge and functional monument, one of the biggest urban bridges in the world. It is not possible to be done by walking (about 15km and it is forbitten), but worth the crossing by car when going to Buzios or Niteroi.

This is just a bridge that links two towns. There's nothing especial about it. There's nothing to see on the bridge itself. It's nice, though, to see it at night, with its lights reflecting on Baía de Guanabara

I use this bridge frequently for getting out of and coming back to Rio de Janeiro. If you don't look at it's clogged traffic but allow your mind to fly on both sides, you get an out of this world feeling. I've a bonus, it brings back some of my nostalgic memories of crossing Vashi bridge near Mumbai.

The bridge occupies the horizon whether walking on some of the famous beaches or high up on the iconic landmarks, constructed approximately 13.5km in length with almost 9km over water. To appreciate the design and construction the best place to view it is from the water. A boat ride around Guanabara Bay gets up close as it navigates around the shore of Rio to Niterol, passing alongside and beneath the bridge. Built in the early seventies it linked the two land masses either side of the bay, previously connected by an inland road journey of 100km. At the time of construction the box girder central span, at 300m, was the longest in the world, rising to a height of 72m above the water to allow for the passage of shipping.
