As one of the must see things to do, we easily found the Lapa steps after a five minute walk from the metro. This place seems to be always mobbed full of people so it sometimes feels like a military operation to get a photo...More

Visiting the place be careful to read the sad story of the maker. Love, tragedy and finally easy access with lifts and excavators. Take your time to find a tile from your country or time. We found a few from Poland. We may also recommend...More

We stopped here as part of our day tour. It is worth seeing, just be mindful of your personal belongings here. Great to look at all the tiles on the walls/floors.

Beautiful and unique wonder...must see. It is free. Long flight of steps...do take your time and walk up slowly. Each flight provides a different story and image. Take your time and rest as you go up the stairs and stop to enjoy this marvel

Even though this is very touristic I will recommend to visit this place and have some drinks in the small bars around. Read a little about the artist and understand the colorful experience

Lot of folks taking selfies of the predominately red tile steps. It is fun to read the locations and text on the tiles from around the world. We walked to the Escadaria Selaron from the aqueduct area. I was thankful that it was in the...More

Santa Teresa
Santa Teresa is a bohemian enclave hosting many local
artists’ studios. The narrow, winding streets of this
neighbourhood were revitalised years ago, and visitors
can now stroll through this area to view magnificent
mansions dating back to the late 19th and early 20th
century. A highlight not miss: Museu Chacará do Céu, a
former mansion turned museum which houses works by
prominent Brazilian modern artists.

I went from Copacabana by tube, from Cardeal Arcoverde Station to Carioca Station, and walk a few blocks see the Cathedral and the Lapa Archs.
