The centro historico knows who is paying the bills - tourists - and they cater to them. There is some beautiful colonial architecture. Some good restaurants. Lots of shops aimed at tourists. And bumpy, stone-covered alleys/streets.

The centre historico is the lovely city center full of coffee shops, restaurants and tourist shops. Wear good shoes for the pebbly streets. Strolling along the streets you discover lovely historic houses. Worth it!

The old town of Paraty is a beautiful and bizarre place. Like a section of history totally trapped in time.. Amazing restaurants, super friendly people and astonishing architecture. Be careful of the cobbled streets, despite their charm..they can be tricky on the ankles in flip...More

Paraty is a charming city, small but full of details and history. Save a time to walk on streets in the early morning, when they are calm and quiet.

Hello, I was in Paraty last december. From where will you be travelling to Paraty? I had a shuttle bus from São Paulo. There are also shuttles from and to Ilha Grande and Rio de Janeiro.
