O Horto Botânico de Niterói cumpriu diferentes papéis durante a sua existência e sofreu várias modificações, adaptando-se as necessidades de cada época. Sua última reforma restaurou parte de seu antigo encanto

Parque recém renovado

Antigo jardim zoológico de Niterói, ficou muito tempo abandonado. Recentemente passou por uma renovação, fazendo com que os moradores voltassem a frequentar o local. Ainda precisa de melhorias mas é uma opção para a zona norte.

Bom para passear com crianças!

Gostei do ambiente. Há parquinhos para as crianças, lugar bem arborizado e limpo! É muito bom para fazer caminhadas também. É necessário usar repelente, já que é um local com bastante vegetação.

Excelente lugar para ir com a família

Se você gosta de ar livre e quer um local onde tenha bastante ar fresco e área para seus filhos brincarem, está no lugar certo! O Horto do Fonseca é uma opção bem viável. Com pistas de skate e amplo ambiente arejado, as tardes de Niterói tem um local bem harmonizado com a natureza para ser contemplado.

Excelente lugar para descanso e apreciação da natureza

O Horto Botânico de Niterói, que alguns chamam também de "Jardim Botânico", é uma enorme espaço verde nativo preservado em meio à vida urbana, no movimentado bairro do Fonseca, na Zoina Norte da cidade, descida da ponte Rio-Niterói a caminho da Região dos Lagos, Norte Fluminense e Espírito Santo (pela BR-101). Reformado há poucos anos na parte dos fundos, onde há um lago com chafariz, caminhos asfaltados ou de pedras para caminhadas, além de trilhas, teve sua pare da frente reformada ainda mais recentemente, com inauguração em janeiro de 2016. Neste lugar existia o antigo (e já arcaico) Minizoo, local que agora foi transformado em área de lazer com brinquedos para crianças, aparelhos para ginástica de idosos, pistas de patins e skate, mesas e bancos para lanches. Ainda faltam uns retoques de acabamento ali. E na parte dos fundos é preciso cuidar melhor das plantas e trilhas, pois há muitas caídas no chão. Mas nada que tire o brilho e o prazer de passar algumas horas ali. A entrada é gratuita em todo o espaço, e moradores da cidade, especialmente próximos, costumam ir lá com frequência.

Sem muita estrutura

Visitei e achei o local sem muita estrutura e mal conservado. O estacionamento do local tem poucas vagas. É um local alternativo para ir com a família fazer uma caminhada, mas não espere muita coisa.

Natureza!

No horto tem um orquidário e é bem cuidado. Foi reformado recentemento porque antes existia um zoo que virou uma praça de skate. Tem um restaurante na entrada que é muito bom, preço justo e a quilo. Ideal para fazer caminhadas e contemplar a natureza. Tem um lago e pode fazer pique niques. Mas tome cuidado, pois alguns frequentadores são estudantes que matam aulas acompanhados de má compania. Vão sempre acompanhados e atentos.

Lugar para amantes da natureza,foi revitalizado em dezembro de 2015,agora está muito legal,ótimo para fazer caminhadas,tem uma pista de skate,parquinho para as crianças e uma feirinha de artesanato nos finais de semana, aos domingos costuma ter alguns eventos culturais.Passeio totalmente família,ótimo para fazer piquenique.Fica na Alameda São Boaventura.
