Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nice little beach that is nowhere near as busy as some of the others around.

Still, it's not the best beach around (hence the lack of people).

Well worth a visit if you have the chance to but don't go out of your way to see it.

We went to Japariz beach when we were doing a boat trip at Ilha Grande, it has nice restaurant options for a good price!

We went there as the last stop of our tour. You stay there for about an hour eating lunch just a few meters off the water, it's truly amazing. The food was absolutely delicious too. The only problem was that it seems that every tourist boat stops there for lunch, so there's a lot of people. Be sure to order your lunch while on the boat!! It will save you tons of time waiting to order and for your food to be cooked. We ordered when our tour started, and as soon as we sat down at the restaurant our food was there waiting for us.

We must have visited the island in low season as the beach and restaurants were near deserted . There were hundreds of empty tables and I can imagine that in high season the mood of the place would be very different.
However lucky us we were the only boat that came to the dock, we had a choice of numerous tasty cafes to choose from for our lunch and then had time to swim beneath the empty pier looking for fish.
I suspect that in high season my view on things would be very different .....

Like wise I think that in the evening if you are lucky to find a small villa for rent you would have the place to your self

With low crowds, might be good--but unfortunately almost every boat on the island stops there. With bad weather, I counted 85 schooners with 150 people each in a 5 hour period, which is too much for a small beach to handle, including the septic tanks. It also faces the shore of the mainland and there are some gas facilities there, which we would rather avoid on a nature island. On the other hand, at night it was quite beautiful, and we enjoyed running to get acai or going for a late night swim. The water is quite clear, even if the shore is less clean.

We were taken to the beach for lunch after a full day touring the island - which was exceptional (barring this beach). It's really just tourist central as all the tour operators seem to bring their guests to eat at this beach. Lots of boats. The restaurants looked bleak, though we opted not to eat as they mainly offer their meals for two people. It also seemed expensive and not worth taking a risk for average food. There are many superb beaches around the island all of them featured in the top 10 under attractions, this one in particular is not one of them.

Relaxing stop off point on a boat tour up to the Lagoa Azul and back via here to Abraao. Ate here very decently and good price - you can book ahead via the boat people.
