Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great waterfall where you can have a swim. There is also a natural pool about 10 minutes into the walk. The walk is uphill for about 45 minutes and then plateaus/descends.
After the waterfall you can then go down to the beach and get a water taxi back to Abrao port.
We saw a big snake on our walk - it was really cool!

Whilst this is one of the most popular hikes on the island , it is still a little challenging if attempted from Abraao. The path is very steep in places and even with the slightest rain will be very slippy. In places the vegetation does also encroach on to the path.
You will need a decent pair of shoes and bring plenty of water for the hot conditions on the 1.5-2hr trek from Abraao.

A quicker option is to take a water taxi to the beach and then walk up yet another very steep path and across several boulder strewn ravines. Still challenging but a much shorter journey.

The water fall itself is pretty and offers a good photo oportunity. However the water is very cold and the rocks are rough, sharp hard and very slippy .

On your return you might see wildlife in the jungle such a cheeky monkeys or a deadly snake. Just be careful and don't do this trip on your own

Due to recent rain, the trail was slippery at places, but the end was worth it. There were only a few other people present there, not crowded at all. You must at least stand under the waterfall once you get there!

If you’re not keen to walk, take the boat. On the other hand, if you are a hiker it will be amazing. Beautiful 1:30h (we are on our late 40ies and have a 12y.o. Boy) trail, lots of green, ups and downs all the way, in the end an amazing waterfall with a nice little pond.
Walking 30’ more you will find feiticeira beach.

It takes a long time to get there, you should go with sneakers and not flip flop. On the signs there is written that it takes 45 minutes but it took us much more and we went relatively fast. We saw two different species of monkeys on the trees, it was very cute. Don't forget to bring water. Close to the waterfall there is the beach, which is also very nice to see (you can buy coconut to drink, caipirinhas and peanuts). Especially because there is a taxi boat that brings you back to the village (it costed just 20R$ per person, it's a great investment). Somebody accepts credit cards but i would recommend to bring cash.

We hiked there with friends which took us 1.5 hours to reach there. It is not so difficult trail but there are some stretch which is a bit steep n up. So need some energy and water. The waterfall is very nice. On the way back, can visit to the beach which is 30 mins walking distance. You can take a taxi boat (10 mins) from there to abbrao ( main beach).

Facing Abrãao beach, go to the left and walk all the way until the end of the town, pass a bridge and follow up a path (if you go straight you end up at Praia Preta), at the very beginning of the tray you will find a small deep pond, really good for refreshing. On the way I met a family of muriqui monkeys, especially at evenings you can hear them shouting really loud in the forest (it kind of reminds a dog barking).

To be honest, I was expecting more from Feiticeira waterfall. It was a bit crowded when I was there, the waterfall does have a high fall and all that, but I simply wouldn't rate it as one of the top attractions of the Island.

In my opinion the walk to the waterfall is one of the best on the island because it is short ( compared to the ones that go to Lopes Mendes or other beaches) but offers nice jungle view, an aqueduct and former prison (the reason why the island has been kept almost untouched) before the waterfall where you can also take a refreshing dip. Just mind the slippery rocks.

Actually you get 4 things here for the price of one. A natural rock pool beside a small waterfall on the way, where you can swim and relax. A well preserved viaduct, which must have been awkward to construct. Then the waterfall itself, which you can stand under, and then you can continue to a lovely small beach (and a boat taxi back if you like). Everyone tends to do the Lopes Mendes beach first, but this is every bit as worthwhile.
