- cprendi10Quincy, Massachusetts117 contributionsAbsolutely magnificent!Although the weather wasn't great, we enjoyed our visit nonetheless. We donned our rain gear and set out on the trail walking about 1 mile past so many waterfalls, we didn't even want to count. The views were awe inspiring. The massive one at the end of the trail, you WILL get wet if you go out into the center but who cares! The views/the thunderous noise and the pictures are fantastic. The next day we headed across the border for the Argentinian side. There is no best side, they both are unique and wonderful..Thank you for visiting and for sharing your moment with us here at the falls! We always strive to provide a great experience for our visitors! Very organized but it does get crowded so try to arrive early so you don’t spend too much time in the line for the buses to the falls, etc. Highly recommended!!Thank you for visiting and for sharing your moment with us here at the falls! - TravellingHappilyBrighton, United Kingdom403 contributionsGorgeous views of the whole width of the fallsWe visited on a rainy day, but the falls were still spectacular. I think the view is better than the Argentinian side. The walkway above the rushing water is thrilling, especially when the river level is high (a few days after we were there that walkway was closed due to high water levels washing over it!).Thank you for visiting and for sharing your moment with us here at the falls! - Amanda KForster, Australia90 contributionsStunning natural wonderThe falls are amazing but get in and out early. Crowds are big and battling the selfie taking tourists and the posing that goes along with it detracts from the experience !! Alot of energy is created by the falls and the surrounding forest is beautiful. We didn’t see many monkeys or coatties … just a few.Thank you for visiting and for sharing your moment with us here at the falls! We always strive to provide a great experience for our visitors! - Trek45892189440Koblenz, Germany7 contributionsWonderful time and Highlight of argentiniaI will never forget my time in Argentina and my visit to the Iguazu falls in particular. I loved the hiking and the train ride to the Garganta del diabol, the largest waterfall of Iguazu and probably one of the largest waterfalls in the world. We also took the boat to get closer to the falls. You can carry a raincoat but mostly to protect your camera. The weather is so warm that it was actually refreshing. After the boat trip, they drop you off at a small beach. We used the moment for some swimming, and it was just amazing being surrounded by the huge waterfalls all around. Another funny highlight were the small monkeys that are roaming around everywhere. They are very curious and always looking for food so you better cover your bag and your belongings. As a last highlight we did the helicopter tour from the Brazilian side which offered spectacular views and lets you understand the immense size of the river delta and the falls. All in all, an unforgettable experience.Visited January 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 11 December 2023
- Alessandro RTurin, Italy176 contributionsSimply astonishingThere are not many things to say about he falls. Simply astonishing, one of the reasons to visi Brasil. During our visit a torrential rain started and I have to say it added some kind of adventure feeling to the visit. We were totally soaked wet in minutes, but smiling in excitement all the time.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 1 January 2024
- drew dBeacon, New York526 contributionsA MUST SEE !!I did this as an excursion thru the cruise I was on. It was a 13 hour trip, bus, plane, walking and worth every single minute. Because I'm older and have problems walking distances, I could only do the upper and not the lower. But I was still mesmerized by the Falls. The trail that you walk on is metal and about 3 feet, 1 meter wide with metal sides. A wheelchair or scooter could do the upper. There are plenty of photo ops. Then there is a train ride to get to the restaurant for a fabulous buffet lunch. Staff are all so helpful and polite. Truly a once in a life time experience.Visited January 2024Travelled soloWritten 17 January 2024
- Ellen GPlainview, New York175 contributionsBeyond magnificent and completely accessibleThe falls were the most beautiful I have ever seen! Best of all, I use a motorized scooter, and there was an elevator to take me to the path, and the path was completely accessible. There is also a boat ride available at the national park where the falls are located. It was frightening for me, but everyone else seemed to really enjoy the experience.Visited January 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 24 January 2024
- John J12 contributionsSpectacular chain of cascading fallsThe Igauzu Falls are spectacular. They are a visual amazement in their long chain of cascadig falls. Although the Argentine walkway over the Devil's Throat was closed due to damage during Octobe 2023 flooding, the views were still amazing from the many other viewpoints along both the Brazil and Argentine walkways.Visited January 2024Travelled with familyWritten 25 January 2024
- deniseEastSussex27 contributionsOne of the most fabulous experiences in our lifetimeWe visited the Argentine side on the first day and enjoyed being ahead of the crowds to enjoy the jungle in the quiet. Sadly we were not aware the Devils Throat walkway and viewing platform were closed - no notification at the ticket office. The second day we visited the Brazil side (this is the best order of seeing the falls) which was even more amazing and the best way to see appreciate the huge areas of water. We took the boat out to the falls and although absolutely soaked it just added to the atmosphere of the whole day. We found Dani our taxi driver on trip advisor and would highly recommend him to drive you around +5493757435700.Visited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 6 February 2024

My friends and I arrived on a Tuesday night to Puerto Iguazú, on a very late flight at 12am. We took two taxis from the airport (~$1300 pesos each car) to Cabañas Riberas Del Paraná. We later found out the official van from the airport is better and cheaper! It takes you to wherever your lodging is for $280 pesos per person but it takes longer than a taxi.
Early the next day we drove with Nicanor, an amazing and kind person, who drove us around the city and to the falls back and forth and to Brasil the next day for a great price. We could not have had such a great trip if it weren't for him. He recommended us restaurants to eat and things to see and not miss, he also took care of our luggage while we ate dinner our last night in the city. Make sure to contact him if you're planning on doing a short trip here: 54.9.375.755.6552.
We spend a whole day on the Argentinian side the first day and did the Brazilian side the next day. Both have spectacular views but the Brazilian side has more of a panoramic view of the Falls. I recommend you to not miss it. Plus, you get to eat 'pĂŁo de queijo' and 'coixinhas'!
We also enjoyed Riberas del Paraná a lot. It's right by the river Paraná an the pool was perfect to relax after walking the whole day. The only downside of it is that it is a bit far away from everything if you don't rent a car. I would suggest staying in the city center if you will be taking taxis to go everywhere. At least you don't need to take a taxi to the city.

I have been to Iguaçu Falls 5-6 times and I pretend to keep going back. It is astonishing and magnificent. There is a 1,5 km panoramic trail (it has stairs) until the big fall, or a direct access by bus (included in the ticket) directly to it. I recommend avoiding the gift shop at the big fall (too crowded, small, and it has the same options and at the same price of the big shop at the park exit). Take sunscreen, insect repellent and water.

It's a breathtaking experience. We stayed at the Belmond Das Cataratas Hotel and visited both sides of the falls, it's well worth doing it because they are very different on each side. Our hotel is inside the park on the Brazilian side so we were able to see the sunset and sunrise right at the falls - just beautiful and you pretty much have the falls to yourself. If you stay at this hotel I would also recommend to do the Full Moon Tour - great view of the falls at night.

I am writing this review for the Brazil side of the falls.... the trails here are more limited with some breathetaking views. We went in Dec 2019 and batlled some 35C weather which was the largest issue. The bugs at the time we went were not a problem at all. I would recommend doing the Brazil side first and then the Argentina side afterwards. We stayed on the Argentina side, so give yourself some extra time for the border crossing. The Brazil side took a max of 3 hours while you could easily spend twice that amount hiking on the Argentina side.

It is nice place but too expensive for foreign people...
Take an umbrella because it is suddenly raining...
When you go on the trial you see different points of view from the falls until you arrive to the biggest one, every single moment make great memory...

IguazĂş falls, Brazil
If at all possible stay in the Belmond Das Cataratas hotel. Beautiful, classy hotel with personality. Nice bar with live music. Ask the sommelier for a Cachaça flight(experience )with 3-4 types to try. Rooms are a bit small but comfortable. The main benefit is that you are inside the park on the Brazilian side and have access to the trails with spectacular views of almost all the 275 falls without crowds. Just after sunrise you may be the only person on the platform watching the mighty drop of the Devil’s Throat. After 5 pm the park closes and as people are trickling out the trail is all yours again as only hotel guest have access. Beautiful sunsets to enjoy.
If you decide to go to Argentina’s side be aware there you need almost the whole day. Long walks to access the view points. And an 1.5 hours to get there as you have to do customs in each country. They say that in Brazil you see the falls and in Argentina you feel their power because from Brazil you are looking at them except on the platform we’re you stand over them and close so you get wet, in Argentina you watch them closer and many times on walkways over the river and at the edge of a drop. If you are able bodied and fit to walk, do both but if you are not, stay in Brazil. If you have young children stick to Brazil only. In my opinion this is not an attraction toddlers will enjoy. Both sides are spectacular. If you stay in Argentina there is the Melia(modern architecture) also inside the Argentina side of the park. It seems to be another option to the more classical and older Belmond.
In Argentina be prepared for long lines of 1-3 hrs for the train when coming back from the Devil’s Throat view point. Frustrating, and a nightmare if with young children.
Best way to get to Argentina is with a private driver. They will help you with customs, have a special fast lane for them so you avoid the long vehicle lines at the checkpoint and they wait for you so you can leave belongings in the car safely. The Belmond arranged one for us, Vanessa. She was great.

Iguaçu falls are incredible. Recommend both sides as you get different views - Argentinian from above, Brazilian from below - and you can experience different things on either sides. We saw plenty of wildlife from the Argentinian side and did lots of walking whereas on the Brazilian side we opted for a wet boat ride and also you can rappel down a waterfall.
Be prepared for busy busy busy because it’s very popular, potentially take a selfie stick if you want to see above the crowds. Wear trainers as lots of walking and money for entrance fees. Great trip highly recommend.

Do you love waterfalls? If so, then you will love the Iguazu Falls (Cataratas del IguazĂş)!
These are 275 waterfalls on the Iguazu River, located on the border of Brazil and Argentina in the Iguazu National Parks of both countries. Both parks are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, and in 2011 they were recognized as one of the seven natural wonders of the world. IguazĂş is translated from the Guarani language as y (water) and guasu (large).
Entrance to the National Park 70R$. The double-decker bus drove about half an hour through the territory to the waterfalls. Starting from the uppermost observation deck, there was the smallest water dust in the air and this haze did not allow anything to be seen or photographed, although the view from the Brazilian side is certainly more interesting than from Argentina. Gradually we went down to the foot of the main waterfall - the Devil's Throat. There was also 100% humidity here, water fell from above, rose from below, persistently climbed from the sides. Then we took the elevator up to the observation tower and looked at the whole panorama of the waterfalls from above. There were many noses, begging for food and black and yellow birds. We returned to the city by city bus.

I arraived just after 9am (early flight from Sao Paulo), I had a large bag with me so I needed a locker to put it in, frustratingly as I needed a locker I had to queue for a ticket and to be givne a token, if I had not needed at token for the locker then I could have used the automated ticketing which would have been so much quicker. I waited around 3/4 hour in the queue.
After sorting out my locker (all good), I realised that I would then have to queue AGAIN to get the shuttle bus to get into the park. This queue took just under and hour !! I don't know what took so long, but in the heat of the mid 30's and the number of people queuing with me it was unbearable.
Once eventually in, the whole thing is very impressive, clearly marked paths, very clean and tidy, a really nice place. It was busy but that is to be expected.
There were food vendors and clean toilets at regular intervals. Price wise everything was much cheaper than it would have been in the UK.
I was aware that this side of the falls was the "quicker" side, but frustratingly I spent nearly as long in the 2 queues to get in as I did actually in there.
The actual falls would get an "excellent" from me, it was just marred a bit by the whole entrance process.
I will write a review for the Argentine side, but given how much bigger that is, there was no queue to get in, I was there 10 minutes after it opened and just walked to the counter and paid. Why the big difference I do not know.

Fabulous a natural wonder of the world a bucket list experience especially boat ride into the falls . Approximately 5 kilo walk up and down steps all with hand rails until you go down to boat ride then no rails at all so wouldn’t recommend if you are not confident on steps or have dodgy knees. We had a fabulous tour guide called Remy he got us there early before crowds and spoke fabulous English very informative and a real character.

Hi we're looking at going to Iguazu Falls flying in from Rio. Can you please let me know if you did a 2 day tour or did you just do the falls yourself?
Anyone else have suggestions for a 2-3 day tour to the falls from Rio? Thanks
Written 16 November 2023
We were just there in April. We (two couples) flew in from Mendoza, spent two nights at a hotel in Puerto Iguazu (Argentina), and then flew on to Buenos Aires.
I don't know that you need more than one day to see the falls--even if you go to both sides--but it is really a full day, so two nights at a local hotel worked well.
I would suggest a guide; ask your travel agent, or use Viator (they probably have a complete package from Rio). Ours was all arranged by our travel agent in the USA. We were met at the airport by our private guide, checked into the hotel and had the evening to relax and go out to dinner. The next morning we were up and out early with our guide and were at the Argentinian side right when it opened to beat the crowds at Garganta del Diablo. We crossed the border into Brazil for lunch and then spent the afternoon seeing the falls from that side and even did one of the speed boat rides (fun!). Our guide then took us to a dinner show at Refain--huge buffet and great songs, dancing, and costumes. Guide got us back over the border to our hotel. Next morning, he got us to the airport for the next leg of our journey.
We really thought this was the perfect amount of time. If you want to go shopping in Paraguay, maybe at a half-day but I hear it's not so nice since the pandemic.
Enjoy, you are about to see one of the most magnificent spots on the planet!
