historical place with atmosphere. Very steep streets on which driving a car especially after the rain you have to do carefully.

This is the center of the historic city into which the two roads from Belo Horizonte and Mariana come into town. Rather than having the statue of the revolutionary Tiradentes (an appellation that refers to the fact that to help people with infirmities in the face, he used to pull or "tira" teeth or "dentes" from their face) facing the... Nice square in this colonial town. Quaint cobbled streets run of it. During the carnaval, the main stage is situated here. Nice atmosphere troughout the day.

Beautiful place, nice proportions- very clean and European. Traffic slows down around the square which makes it possible to cross the street. Lots of shopping and stopping around

This is the starting point for every visit to Ouro Preto. It is the place where people hang out after a long walk and meeting point. The city government finally removed regular parking there and people have more freedom around there now. It is beautiful during the day and at night time. In one end of the square you have... More

The Praca Tiradentes is surrounded by lovely old houses. In fact, the whole centre of Ouro Preto is very well preserved, colorful and simply stunning. It has loads of character and deserves a 2 day visit.
