Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Quiet city, smaller and simpler than the boiling and badaling of Black Gold. I visited the holiday there and it was more quiet yet, reminds much of the configuration of a city from the interior.
Worth a visit!
Special spot for the beautiful churches.

I loved getting to know the historic center of Mariana. A very beautiful and organized city, without the impafia of Ouro Preto, and with people much better prepared to welcome tourists. There are not so many attractions, but just the churches and the beautiful Minas Gerais square are enough to make you want to come back here

Excelent experience to know beatiful churches and and a very iconical city! Be sure to know the Priest Formation Center, as it is an impressive complex.

Be ready to pay from 3 to 10 reais each church and know that some of them are closed to repairs (one of them got partially burnt).

You have three important churches to visit. They are very well preserved. You need to be good driver to get there, but it is worth a visit for a half day.

Mariana is a wonderful city. I look for meetings to comment on the city and spread to other historic cities, not only from Minas, but from other cities in Brazil.

The historic city of Mariana is small and one day is enough to get to know the city.
Beautiful churches, nice place, I loved it.
