Its a diesel engine driven train between Mariana and Ouro Preto, 40 or 60 (panoramic view vagon) R$ per peron. If you do this trip after having done the Sierra Verde Express from Curitiba to Morretes you will be bored. Not much to see
The train ride is pleasant enough but more could be done to make it better such as written guides. The cost for the hour long trip is reasonable and a nice alternative to the local bus. The historical area of Mariana is quite nice but...More

The train is nicely renovated (or new in an old style) and it is definitely a fun way of getting from one place to another and you do get prettier views from the train...More
