This monument was designed by Oscar Niemeyer, The cathedral is a hyperboloid structure constructed from 16 concrete columns, weighing 90 tons each. Under this is suspended a 2,000-square-meter (22,000 sq ft) stained glass work originally created in 1990 by Marianne Peretti, in shades of blue,...More

Very different architecture for a worship place, designed by a communist, on the boulevard of the political power in the country's capital. Worth a visit. The light is present everywhere in the cathedral that is an iconic of Brasilia's architecture. A must see.

Is a pleasure to down the entrance and be surprised by the colorful view, the altar filled with white flowers. The Angels clinging up above like guarding the altar: is simply perfect. The spaces inside are enchanted by the stetic of the stone and Cristal...More

One of the greatest architectural wonders of Brasilia is without doubt its unusual cathedral, a work by the self-declared communist Oscar Niemeyer, which shows that you don't have to be a Christian to build a great church. From far already one can see this hyperboloid...More

Is a different and amazing cathedral. Not very nice to get in to. Brasilia, despite a planned and new city doesn´t care much where you park your car or even if you want to walk if there are safe and nice sidewalks. But the Cathedral...More

This architectural beauty of Brasilia shows the spirit of the design of Brasilia a quiet place to stroll and enjoy the architecture, art. Not the best place to go to a concert! The acoustics are not very good.

The cathedral has a grand entrance across the open parkland with a parade of statues. The Oscar Niemeyer crown of thorns design is legendary. I had expected such an impressive building to be larger (capacity is perhaps 500) but I was impressed by its airy,...More

A must see in the city. Visited after lunch and the place was very quiet. A few students and people praying. Very calm place, with beautiful hanging statues and a knick knack shop inside to buy a few gifts for friends. Must visit and also...More

There's a lot to see in this area, but stop here and take 20 minutes to get in ! It has an impressive architecture, specially inside. Outside means something like two hands in a praying position. Explore hidden areas behind the the main altar !
