Just like the national museum the building is very appealing from the outside, but there is not much to see in it. Quite a wasted space one could say. What to say about a place that is supposed to house the heroes of a country, but has on the entrance wall the face and writings of a former senator and president,s till alive, and whose deeds are not celebrated by many? Skip it!

This building, designed by Oscar Niemeyer, is a tribute and monument to honor the patriots and heroes of Brazil after the revolution. The glass mosaic, designed by Marianne Peretti, is just as modern as the building itself. It is located at the Squeare of Powers and the entrance is free.

Small (by local standards) building, quite interesting with its free shapes in direct opposition to the huge institutions that surround it. Unless you're a Brazilian history buff, don't bother with the interior.

This modernist building is a beautiful structure in the form of a dove. It was built in the eighties and it is a project of Oscar Niemeyer, who is 104 years old and still works! Worth seeing it!
