This place is important from a historical point of view, but is it ratter small and not that attractive. Give just a look.

Real nice park in the center of the city. Has, at times, vendors of plants and arts and crafts. Beautiful central monument and the fences surrounding the park are worth a few pictures.

The square is quite safe during the daylight, for strolling and daily walking. The old monument at the center commemorates the independence of Bahia on July 2nd, 1823
