I speak English and Spanish and understand some Portuguese. The museum was extremely well done but there were lots of gaps that could have been improved upon with more translation into Spanish (!) and English. The placards often had English translation. But we were left...More

This is cool spot in the city. The museum is extremely rich on stuff from Amado and his wife. I really enjoyed walking into each room and feeling the vibe of such a cool place.

I had visited the Museum and enjoyed his works, but his home "casa" was much more impressive. We saw how he lived, how his meals were prepared, his garden, and a special hut dedicated to his participation in candomble.

Must go, great to get to know the lives of such an important couple. The house is amazing, just not sure how non Portuguese speaking people can get the best of it, since I haven't seen anything translated to English.
