I went to the museum given that the subject was on the "first Brazilians" (indigenous inhabitants before colonization). Mostly it was just blown up pictures of colonial drawings on this subject matter with text in Portuguese. There was no separate pamphlet for English speakers (or any other language for that matter) to explain the subject matter so I really didn't... More

I entered via a beautiful garden with huge beautiful trees and downstairs to the Museum entrance. The Expo was an Brazilian Indigenous Cultural event and spread across the lower level, really enjoyable and friendly staff.

This museum is housed in Salvador, Bahia's ex-medical school location It is part of UFBA (Salvador, Bahia's Federal University) Visit The Carybe wood panel carving of the Orixas (African deities) --- A MUST SEE
