Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

June 2012 • Solo
In the Rua Chile, right around the corner with the Praça da Sé Square, a small space with a mezzanine is dedicated to the French photographer Pierre Verger. Every year or so, the Pierre Verger Foundation (housed in Engenho Velho de Brotas) displays here a changing selection of about 30 pictures he made in Salvador (where he lived) and in the places in Africa and Europe that he visited. He depicted the daily life of fishermen, farmers and stevedores. In these pictures there's an undeniable gay element. He showed also a lot of interest in religion and rituals of different cultures. There are a few books about his life and works for sale, but the most beautiful ones are heavy and pricy.
