It looks beautiful from the outside and I recommend to take a walk around the church to see it from other perspectives. The church itself is nice but nothing really spectacular.

Ilheus is not a big city but has many cultural and historic places to visit. The cathedral is one of them. Centrally located at the historic downtown.

This church is nice and beautiful, but it was closed when I went there, so I only saw it from outside. It is located close do the historical part of Ilheus and is located close to the beach.

The cathedral could really use some renovation. It looks TERRIBLE on the outside. When that is said it is beautiful inside and worth a visit if you are there anyway.

It is starting to detiorate externally. Inside it is like many another cathedral, If you are wandering arount the historical centre of Ilheus, it is worth 10 minutes, but not much more.

It is always nice to come into the cathedrals when in a hot country. There is an interesting story about how the colonel, after a visit went down to the restaurant, and by a secret door could come to the Brazilian version of "Moulin Rouge"...More

Just been renovated from outside and looks glourious. Just outside the Bar Vesuvius and you will not wonder anymore why Jorge Amado chose that spot at the bar...

Unfortunately it was closed but it's very beautiful outdoors so I imagine indoors! I really recommend to go there but on holidays isn't possible to see it :(

The surrounding area is dirty, especially the steps area, and the square has almost no seating. It lacks that atmosphere that makes you want to stay and savour the area. Popped in and I was done in 10 minutes.

The banner at the door says that they are encouraging people to attend mass for GRACE! Very large interior, and well lit in white.
