I had the opportunity to visit the theatre. There is a guided tour. Besides, it was going on a festival with several operas. The price was not expensive at all (US$15) and I could enjoy the opera.

Imagine a theater being built in 1815 in all its grandeur. They had to transport heavy loads from more than 2Kms down the river where the ships brought the materials

The guided tour here (available also in English) is very interesting - although it doesnt give you time to go over all the exhibits. The history of the building is fascinating.

Never expected that there would be such a neat and elegant theater in the middle of Amazon jungle. It's nicely built just like ones in Europe, definitely a must see if you are in Manaus.
