You don't need to book a city tour to visit this place and take the tour. Just take an Uber or taxi ride to the Opera and buy your ticket. They do understand English there. And they have tours in English which last about 1...More

Built by money from the Rubber Barons it is a beautiful building in a large square in Manaus there are restuarants close by and on Sunday a large street market operates on an adjacent street . Very hot and humid

Spectacular building that we did not expect to see in the Amazon. We were very fortunate to be able to sit and listen to an orchestra rehearsing in this beautiful theatre.

I have been there to two performances! They have marvellous Symphonic Orchestra! The accoustics are wonderful and the setting spectacular! A great experience!

As other responders have said, you'll need to go to the theatre on arrival, or to the tourist information office on the opposite side of the theatre square. There are some free performances of music and drama. The free tour... More
