Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a beautiful stroll along the Saranda Seafront spoiled by beggars, crazy people on electric scooter, bikes and motor cycles in the midst of thousands of people. What are they thinking? There is no control or management at all and random people are selling every thing from grilled corn to stupid children's toys. Worse of all are the tourist boats tied up there. They blast mussic so loud that you have to practically run past them holding your ears. It's unbearable and I can't imagine sitting in any of the more than 50 cafes along the embankment. It truly is well done and worth seeing early in the morning before all the crazies show up.

Dirty dump with cracked pavements and trip hazards everywhere. Bars and restaurants charging silly prices for the balkans and everybody trying to exploit you. Couldn’t wait to leave. I have been to every country in the Balkans and Albania is my least favourite.

I was expecting big things of Saranda, but to be honest, it needs development to even be a mediocre place!

I walked of the ship and within 200 yards I was at the top of the steps down the the Promenade, only to be confronted by my first beggar, and then all along the Promenade there must have been 20 more, plus young children, who could say "Money please"

There are very little shops, and on reflection a tour to the Blue eye or even other historical sites would have been much better.

I went from the airport in Tirana by taxi to the bus terminal. Taxi fare is fixed, 20 euro or 2500 lek. About 6 hours from Tirana bus terminal. I took the departure bus at 12:30. The price is 1300 lek. Buy tickets at a travel agency on the second floor of a coffee shop next to the bus terminal. There is no air conditioner on the bus, it is unbearable! Upon arrival in Saranda, there is a supermarket opposite the bus terminal.

I want to start by saying Saranda is visually beautiful...the water is clear and beaches clean for the most part. As a whole I don't recommend it for tourists mainly because as of 2023 the prices are nearly usa prices but the quality is just not there. Every restaurant serves the exact same mediocre food. Expect to pay 30.00 USD for basic breakfast for two. The prices are too high for what they offer. You can go to prettier Mediterranean places with nicer people places and food. I literally have no idea what constitutes Albanian culture....I didn't see any food music or Art. Basically Year round Albanian residents make their yearly income in four months during the summer....hence the 10 usd taxi ride for 3 minutes...I'm not sure what people do the other 8 months of the year but I recommend they use that time to strategize how to truly revitalize their country rather than just creating a money grab for the summer. I would not come back.

This is one of the best spots in Saranda to take great pictures. Both in the afternoon and in summer nights.

Spent two nights in Saranda doing day trips in the surrounding area.
The Embarkment is full of life at night with many locals and a few foreigners enjoying social strolls, drinks, restaurants, a few nightclubs. Really refreshing to escape the overly touristic mood.
Clean and well maintained. Felt safe walking the area late into the night.
Don’t know why anyone would come for the beaches here when a short bus or taxi ride to Ksamil’s famous beaches is so convenient.
Industrial tourism hasn’t arrived, locals are friendly, food is great.
Communist era construction of apartments gives the city a stark appearance, but at night it is quite pleasant.

We took the ferry from Corfu to Saranda embankment as a day trip. It was good value and a great way to do some extra sightseeing. Small public beach area and several restaurants at the embankment.

Great for a stroll. There is also a public beach where you can go for a swim. Many restaurants, and a bazaar where you can get all kinds of souvenirs (mostly Chinese stuff). Near the end there is a tourist info point where you can get maps, and English books and albums.

Comes alive in the evening when the temperature cools, with lots of people just strolling along the seafront. Plenty of places to eat or have a drink. There's also a good craft market selling a range of souvenirs.
