Visited here while on tour with a cruise ship. This is an interesting cultural experience and the musicians are well worth hearing in addition to seeing the impressive festival floats. After the main exhibition is an area where you can see local artisans at work...More

Entered with low expectations and left very impressed. We were just in time to see a shamisen performance. The sound is very powerful and different to the more refined style found in southern Honshu. There was also a chance to play some taiko (drums), and...More

Traveled here with a tour from a cruise ship. A great way to spend an hour or so listening to drums, watching local Artisans at work, feeding fish in the pond, and walking around the shops. The art displayed here is absolutely breathtaking. The drama...More

Really enjoyed our visit to this museum. I thought it might be similar to the one in Aomori but it has more cultural activities such as playing taiko drums, a traditional Japanese string instrument and seeing the spinning tops. Not much English but the staff...More

It's hard to characterize this place. It's not a museum, nor is it an amusement park. It's an experience. Visitors begin with a little explanation of neputa, and how they differ from the nebuta of neighboring Aomori. Then they are treated to a bit of...More
