Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We walked from the railway museum to the tunnel entrance as the retro railway was not operating. We understood from the museum staff that bus svc 74 runs from Mojiko station, but the next service was some time away.
It was a pleasant walk as we passed by the retro waterfront and then Norfolk Square and enjoyed the sights on a clear day.
Upon reaching, we took a break and bought drinks from the nearby vending machine before proceeding further. From the other end of the tunnel, you could take public bus to Shimonoseki station (details in photos) for a train back to Moji or Kokura or to Karato for a ferry to Mojiko. Note that the Kyushu rail pass could not be for the cross straits service.

The bridge that connects Western Honshu with Kyushu spanning the Kanmon Straits which is less than a kilometer wide.
Kyushu island's mild climate and geothermal character creates a land of undulating green countryside, ancient volcanic cones and some great hot-spring resorts.

Must go there twice. Once in day-time and once during night time. You can go uphill in the Mekari Park to have a breath-taking view of the bridge. There is a tunnel nearby for pedestrians to cross the Kanmon Strait on foot.

Kanmon strait is between Honshu island and Kyushu island. The Kanmon bridge connects to Moji town and Shimonoseki city. There are four tunnels under the Kanmon strait. For Shinkansen express, local trains, cars and pedestrians.

The scenery is fantastic, and the steady stream od large ships plying the straits add to the interesting nature of the area. You can walk under the straits (no bikes or pedestrians on the bridge) and there are places where you can sit, sip a coffee or a beer, and enjoy the scenes.

The journey had been started at the Mojiko station, the gate way of this 18th century style town. On the way to the Kanmon Kaikyo(Kanmon bridge), you may see the famous blue ring bridge, the show will begin at 1100,1200,1300,1400,1500,1600 everyday. On the other hand, there are plenty of heritage builds with 100 years of history and the local government modified it to become a gallery
Around 25 mins walk from the station, finally arrived the Kanmon Kaikyo, in fact, it only for automobiles. You may use the Kanmon harbour crossing tunnel to pass through the channel for the mainland Japan.
You better reserve a whole day for the Kanmon region, and endless discoveries on this site.

Looking from kyushu side can be spectacular around sunset time when the sun setting against the bridge creating orangish color on the background sky. People can walk thru a tunnel - meant for walking not vehicles - built 60 meter under the sea. The tunnel connect kyushu and honshu sides with a length of nearly 800 meter. This is something unique to do.
