It was Sunday and we came by here for a visit after visiting Ise Grand Shrine, that was just a stone's throw away from here.
This is an old town with several streets where many restaurants, souvenir, art and craft shops, bakery and dessert shops etc are located. As it was Sunday, it was crowded and several shops had long queues as it was near lunch time.
It was a nice place for one to learn about the history and culture, lifestyle and food culture of Mie and it's people and if you are into this, you will surely indulge in the nice ambience!

Okage Yokocho is a small area with shops and food outlet just off the main street of Oharaimachi.
Although Oharaimachi's buildings are often a couple centuries old, but Okage Yokocho's buildings are pretty new since they only built it in 1993 (think I read this somewhere).
There are many shops selling Ise udon, which tastes nice.
There are buses which goes to nearby Isuzugawa station, and Ise-shi station.
Nothing much at Isuzugawa station though, not even a tourist info counter, so it might be a better idea to alight at Ise-shi station, visit Outer shrine, then take bus to Okage Yokocho/Oharaimachi, visit Inner Shrine, then take bus to either Ise-shi or Isuzugawa station.
Even though I went on a monday morning, but there were still alot of people.
I would recommend getting the 5days Kintetsu Railpass (3700yen for normal coverage, 5700yen for wide coverage for up to both Kansai airport and Nagoya airport via Kintetsu train lines) so that you can take the Ltd Exp train from Osaka (I boarded from Tsuruhashi station in Osaka) to Ise-shi station (or Isuzugawa station, which is what I did). This railpass only allows you to take up to a max of 3 Ltd Exp trains though, so plan your train trips carefully.

A shopping street that merges old and new. Lots of variety for food vendors, shops and restaurants. A nice little distraction on the way to the Grand Shrine

This street is where people go after visiting the shrine. Many shops selling sweets and other souvenir that are local to the region. Have a few restaurants too. A must-see place during a visit to the shrine.

In the Edo era, more than two million people a year visited Ise-jinguu, and the Monzenmachi (township in front of the shrine gates) of Oharai-machi prospered as the pilgrims traveled through the town to reach Ise Jinguu. But by the end of the 1970s the number of visitors to Oharai-machi had dwindled to only two hundred thousand while annual visitors to Ise-jinguu had increased to five million. This was because the visitors were bypassing the town traveling to Naiguu by cars and buses via a national road running parallel to the route through the town. The sweets manufacturer Akafuku led efforts to restore and preserve the traditional Japanese architecture in the area. Okage–yokochou was opened as an alley stemming from Oharaimachi high street In 1993, the year of a Senguu. This is a shopping area composed of 28 buildings newly built or relocated from elsewhere in a genuinely old Ise style from the late Edo to early Meiji era. Okage-yokochou was a huge success and according to statistics released by Ise City 5 years ago, the number of visitors to Oharaimachi is getting close to five million annually. A good pitstop at this shopping street after visiting the shrine. Many restaurants offering local delicacies and merchandises. Tasting street foods as we walked along the street gave different kind of enjoyment in a peaceful atmosphere.

I guess for Okage Yokocho, it depends on how you see these kinds of tourist places. For me this is a must visit since I'm a food lover (street food). It was really pricey when you put it all together but to me, to have all those variety in one place makes it worth it. It's great for groups since you can try out different food and buy souvenirs. I like buying food and just sitting by the river and to relax.
I love the place, and definitely be back when I'm in Ise.

Okage Yokocho, located near Ise Naigu, is a shopping and restaurant area for the visitors of the shrine. As I went for new year's holiday, this area was overcrowded and I could hardly walk. It is a main attraction of Ise, and I strongly recommend you to take a look.

来年1月31日の日曜日におかげ横丁へいきます。
10時半頃到着予定ですが、近く迄行って駐車場は泊める事が出来ますでしょうか？

私はたまたま昨年も今年も11月1日の大学駅伝の日に行ってしまい混んでたのですが昨年はおかげ横丁そばの駐車場（市営だと思います）に停められました。今年はそこが満車で別の空き地のような臨時駐車場でしたが停めることができたのでたぶん1月31日なら停めることが出来ると思います。
